Danielle, a lot of what you wrote really resonated with me. Even though your grandmother's time in the dash was limited, she clearly lived a beautiful, full, and loving life. My parents were born in the time of Emmitt Till. I still recall that as a child, they stored the notorious “Jet Magazine” cover of his body in a locked box in our home. It served as a recurring reminder of their dedication to ending social injustices. “Neptune Frost” is a film I enjoy re-watching. It’s astonishing what Saul Williams and Anisia Uzeyman accomplished on such a small budget.
